Actor Columbus Short 'evicted from home for not paying rent'

SCANDAL: Actor Columbus Short has reportedly been kicked out of his LA home

IT'S BEEN a tough year for actor Columbus Short - first he was accused of assaulting his wife, then he lost his job, and now, he's reportedly been booted out of his home.

According to TMZ, the former Scandal star was evicted from his $6,995 a month apartment by the landlord getting behind on his rent payments.

The landlord secured a court order to force Short to vacate the premises after five days. But apparently the actor had already packed up and left.

The landlord told the gossip website that he's not certain that the TV star actually paid back the rent before he took off.

It seems like things are just going from bad to worse for Short. In April, it was announced that he would be leaving Scandal following his arrest for the alleged domestic violence assault against his estranged wife Tanee McCall.

The 32-year-old actor portrayed Harrison Wright, the right hand man of star Kerry Washington's character Olivia Pope, for three seasons on the hit ABC political drama.

His wife had previously filed for divorce in September 2013 and renewed her petition after the alleged domestic violence incident.

In March, the Stomp the Yard actor also was arrested for allegedly assaulting a man during a bar room brawl in Los Angeles. He was then arrested in July for public intoxication after an alleged shouting match with a security guard and a scuffle with off-duty Dallas police officers.
