THE LONDON Africa Cultural Event (LACE) returns for another year of celebration. Inspired by African hair, beauty and fashion, an evening of aesthetic enchantment is promised to one and all.

This is not just a fashion show; it’s a platform for emerging designers to collaborate with established industry figures and showcase their best work.

Celebrating its fifth year, LACE boasts a fusion of fashion, beauty, heritage, and music, attracting audiences from all walks of life. The event is designed to uplift, inspire and educate the young black millennials about their roots, evoking a heightened understanding and confidence, in the process.

Creative Director and founder Wari Granville told The Voice:

“It also an offers a chance for give young people to showcase their talent. Whether they’re make-up artists, photographers, designers, singer or performers. I don’t think there are as much opportunities like that now, than there were back in the day.

“LACE is an event which celebrates Black History month. We tend to try and stage it a little earlier, towards London Fashion Week, as an African inspired fashion show. The models all have natural hair, so we try to place emphasis on that and how to look after it.”

A number of high-profile sponsors are aboard this year's event including Palmers, Pink Lotion, Hype Coiffure and Keracare.

The magic will happen on 30 September at the Hilton Hotel Paddington, which has kindly donated a double bedroom to be auctioned on the night. All proceeds will go to the Sickle Cell Society.

Tickets are being sold for a dinner reception, starting from £55.
