Album preview: Is Decosta Boyce the UK's answer to Prince?

STEVENAGE-BORN musician Decosta Boyce is raring to go with his debut album release, 'Electrick Soul' – a feel-good project filled with funky melodies reminiscent of Funkadelic, Jamiroquai and Prince wrapped into one.

This release follows problems with his management over his first album, with it failing to be released properly and reaching the masses. As a result, the artist has put time and effort into this project, which is clearly reflected in its 10 tracks which demonstrate Boyce's versatility as one of the best artists to watch here in the UK.

Including No Holding Back, featuring a banging trumpet solo from Mark Perry (Conor Maynard, Robin Thicke), to the Otis Redding-inspired Don’t Go (Across the River) featuring vocals from Cee Cee Stalin (Omar, Alesha Dixon), Electrick Soul shows off Boyce’s vocals, brilliantly backed by a world class band which includes Keeling Lee on lead guitar, Sam Odiwe on bass, Winston Marche on drums and Ayo Oyerinde on keys.
