Alexandra Burke to Sing The Blues

IN A series of performances at the Royal Albert Hall, singer Alexandra Burke will be performing several tracks from the soundtrack of an iconic film.

Lady Sings The Blues was a biopic movie about the life of jazz legend Billie Holiday, which starred Diana Ross in the lead role.

And Bad Boys hit-maker Burke, who won reality television singing contest X Factor in 2008, will be performing a selection of hits from the film’s soundtrack at the Elgar Room from June 4 to 8.

Speaking about the forthcoming gigs, the 24-year-old said: “I am so excited to be performing concerts in such an iconic venue.

“It is an honour to be able to sing Billie Holiday’s songs and I feel a very strong emotional attachment to them.

“Music is my life and I love doing different and surprising things, so I can't wait to get on stage and sing these amazing and timeless songs."
