GIRL ON FIRE: Alicia Keys
ALICIA KEYS will hit British shores next May as part of her Girl On Fire Tour, it has been announced.
The 14-time Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter and producer will play arena dates in Liverpool, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham and London’s O2 Arena to promote her fifth studio album of the same name, released on Monday (Nov 26).
Keys said: “I’m so excited to be touring again and I’m looking forward to performing and feeling the energy of the crowd-there’s nothing like it. I plan to bring you something emotional and exciting! I’m a brand new me.”
Since the 2001 release of her debut album, Songs in A Minor, Keys has sold more than 30 million albums and 30 million singles sold and racked up over one hundred awards, including fourteen Grammy Awards, eleven Billboard Music Awards and three MTV Europe Awards.
On her latest offering she added: “I’m in love with this album!! It is full of new beginnings, new perspectives and fresh starts,” said Keys. “I’m so excited to be touring again and it’s great to be back in the UK!!!
The tour announcement comes after Keys' performance on the X Factor results show at the weekend.
Tickets go on sale at 9am tomorrow (Nov 30).
