CHARGED: Andre Gray
BURNLEY'S ANDRE Gray has been charged with misconduct in respect of social media comments made between January 9 2012 and March 1 2012.
It is alleged the comments were abusive and/or insulting and/or improper and/or brought the game into disrepute contrary to FA Rule E3(1).
It is further alleged that these breaches include reference to an "aggravating factor", namely, sexual orientation and/or gender and/or colour and/or race contrary to FA Rule E3(2).
The player has until 6pm on August 31 to respond to the charge.
A product of the Shrewsbury Town youth system, Gray came to prominence after scoring 57 goals in 111 appearances in a two-season spell with Luton Town.
Gray made his Premier League debut on the opening day of the 2016–17 season on August 14 in a 1–0 home defeat to Swansea City.
One week later, he followed up his Premier League debut by scoring his first Premier League goal in a 2–0 home win over Liverpool.
