Appeal following armed robbery in Fulham

TARGETED: PC World/Currys megastore at Hurlingham Retail Park

DETECTIVES ARE appealing for witnesses and information after an armed robbery in Fulham, south London.

The suspects struck the PC World/Currys megastore at Hurlingham Retail Park, Wandsworth Bridge Road, at about 8am before it opened to the public yesterday morning.

They gained entry to a warehouse at the rear of the megastore and once inside they demanded to be taken to the safe by shaken staff.

One of the men, it is believed, was armed with a handgun.

They forced staff to open the safe and a quantity of cash was stolen.

Once the suspects made off, the police were alerted.

There were no injuries.

DS Hywel Davies said: “This was a well-planned robbery, and it is likely they would have had their escape route planned in advance, but commuters or passers-by in the busy Wandsworth Bridge Road may have seen something of use.

“It is essential that anyone who may have seen these men at any point before or after the robbery comes forward,” he said.

He continued: “They are black, and wore dark clothing, though one wore a yellow tabard, similar to those worn by builders. Their faces were covered.”

Anyone who can assist is asked to call the Flying Squad on 020-7230 8666; if you wish to remain anonymous please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
