FILM STAR: Ashley Cole

FOOTBALLER ASHLEY Cole will swap the pitch for the big screen later this year as he prepares to take on his first film role.

The Chelsea defender will appear in a new football-based film called Played alongside hardman actor Danny Dyer.

But don’t fret; Cole won’t be channeling his inner Shakespeare for his impending role as the 30-year-old will be playing himself.

Ashley, who joined forces with fellow footballer Rio Ferdinand to back the 2008 production of British gangster movie, Dead Man Running, will appear with West Ham boss Sam Allardyce and footballer Joe Cole who are also reportedly involved in cameo roles.

The film, which will most likely hit screens next year, will be centered around a underhand football agent who will played by Football Factory star Dyer, reports The Sun
