Audley Harrison still a Prizefighter

RETURN TO THE RING: Audley Harrison

MUCH MALIGNED heavyweight Audley Harrison will return to the ring in the Prizefighter competition at London's York Hall, Bethnal Green, on February 23.

Ex-Olympic gold medallist Harrison, 41, was knocked out inside 82 seconds by David Price in his last fight, but said he did not want to retire from boxing.

Prizefighter is an eight-man competition where each fight lasts three rounds, with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final all taking place on the same evening.

Harrison is a previous Prizefighter winner, with Harrison claiming a win in the tournament in 2009 before going on to win the European heavyweight title against Michael Sprott six months later.

That set up the 2000 Sydney Olympic super-heavyweight gold medallist with a world title shot against David Haye in November 2010, but he was outclassed against his fellow Briton and was stopped in the third round.
