Bad Boys 3 gets release date, Smith and Lawrence to star

BAD BOYS fans all over the world will be rejoicing at the news that a third film is in the works.

Bad Boys for Life, understood to be the film’s current working title, will see Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reprise their roles as Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett.

The film has been in the works for around a decade already and was previously due to be released this year. but it appears the project is back on finally has a release date.

But fans will have to wait a little longer as the film is set to be released on January 17 2020, Sony has announced.

In April, Smith hinted at the possibility that he and Lawrence could return to the big screen as the famed LA detective duo.

In an Instagram post wishing Lawrence a happy birthday, Smith said: “Happy birthday to the best damn partner ever!!! What you think Marty-Mar? One more time? Martin Lawrence.”

Lawrence replied: “Much love, Will. Let’s do it again for sure.”

The posts sent fans into a frenzy and many comments underneath the post supported the idea of Bad Boys becoming a trilogy.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will direct the third instalment in the franchise.

A Bad Boys spinoff TV show starring Gabrielle Union, who will reprise her role from Bad Boys 2, and Jessica Alba is also in the works and set to be picked up by a network.

The first instalment of Bad Boys grossed $144 million (£106 million) at the worldwide box office.
