HORROR SHOW: A clip from the offending video

THE BBC is currently caught up in a racism row after posting a video online asking if “all black people like chicken".

The Mirror Online reports that the film provoked outrage on social media after it was posted by one of the corporation’s Twitter accounts on the last day of Black History Month. The original tweet read: “Black people and fried chicken - is there any truth in it?”

The clip shows a number of young people talking about the stereotype with one saying: “Apparently it makes your bum bigger”.

The white woman continues: “A lot of black girls that I know, they are always like, yeah, you know, I eat a lot of chicken because it makes your bum bigger.”

In response to this there were a number of tweets expressing outrage, one said: “You ought to be ashamed. This is the best you could come up with for black history month AND someone signed off on it???

A BBC spokesperson said: "These short films show young people from various backgrounds discussing their experiences of dealing with different stereotypes, which accompanies a wider documentary looking at racism in the UK."
