Best ever finish for Team GB bobsleigh pairing

GOOD TIMES: Mica McNeill and Mica Moore (right)

TEAM GB'S Mica McNeill and Mica Moore finished eighth in the women's bobsleigh competition at the Winter Olympics in South Korea, representing a best-ever finish for Great Britain at an Olympic Games.
Mariama Jamanka piloted Germany to gold.

For McNeill and Moore it was the best result for Great Britain at an Olympic Games, bettering the ninth place achieved by Nicola Minichiello and Jackie Davies at the Turin 2006 Games.

Cardiff-born Moore, 25, said:“Our brains are just frazzled, we are just so happy. We can't believe we are here to start with and then to come eighth and make history with the best British finish is incredible.

All our families are here, we are going to meet up with them and just enjoy time with them as it's been a long, stressful season."

And looking ahead to Tokyo 2022: "Four years is such a long time in sport. We can improve on so much. We are only tiny and we can make ourselves stronger and faster. We are so determined to improve. We are very determined girls, don't put anything past us."
