Beyoncé dominates MTV VMA nominations

QUEEN BEY: Beyoncé nabs eight MTV VMA nominations

AMERICAN SINGER Beyoncé has picked up the most nominations ahead of this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, with Eminem and Iggy Azalea on her tail with seven nods.

Three of Bey's videos, which were all released on the same day she dropped her surprise self-titled album in December, are up for awards, including Drunk In Love, Pretty Hurts and Partition.

Should she triumph on the night, Beyoncé could claim third place in the most VMA wins of all-time list, with 12 trophies under her belt to date, according to The Independent.

Pop singer Madonna currently holds the record with 20 wins throughout her career, while Lady Gaga and Peter Gabriel have 13 each.

Drake, Eminem and Kanye West will battle it out to receive the award for best hip-hopop video, and the VMA ceremony on August 24.
