BIRTH?: Beyoncé gives birth to 'Ivy Blue Carter'?

BEYONCE AND JAY Z welcomed their first child into the world last night (Jan 7) and named her 'Ivy Blue Carter', say reports.

The 30-year-old singer gave birth to her daughter by caesarean section at Lenox Hill hospital in New York, reports celebrity gossip website eonline , who also claimed that 'multiple sources' have confirmed the news.

While there has been no official announcement of the birth from the celebrity couple fans have taken to social networking website Twitter to congratulate the stars.

One commentator wrote: "Congrats to Beyonce and Jay-Z. Ivy Blue is one of the luckiest baby ever and she still doesn't even know it. [sic]"

In a separate post another fan wrote: ''Congrats to Beyonce and Jay-Z on their new baby girl!"
