IN TOWN: Beyoncé
BEYONCÉ WILL perform at next month's Brit Awards, it was revealed today.
The US singer is the first big international name to commit to playing at the February 20 ceremony, which already includes Mumford and Sons, Muse and One Direction.
Beyonce, who with over 75 million worldwide album sales is regarded as one of the best-selling artists of all time, has been working on her fifth solo album but also recently unveiled a new track, Nuclear, with former group Destiny's Child.
A source told The Sun: “Beyoncé coming to The Brits is a huge coup for organisers.
“She’s among the best live pop acts on the planet and will have brand new material to play for the audience.
“The last time she played The Brits, nine years ago, was at the start of her solo career, singing Crazy In Love. So it’s apt that she’s back this year.”
2013 looks set to be a busy return to work for Bey, after she took time out in 2012 following the birth of her daughter, Blue Ivy, who recently turned one.
On 21 January 2012 Beyonce will perform the American national anthem at Barack Obama's second presidential inauguration.
She'll follow that in February by performing at the high profile half-time show at the US Super Bowl.
Then later in February Beyonce will release a documentary film about herself called Life is But a Dream.
