SHOW-STOPPING: Beyoncé, watched by President Obama, gives her all during her rendition of the American National Anthem
BEYONCÉ BROUGHT President Obama's inauguration ceremony to a blinding end with a flawless rendition of the American National Anthem with help from the U.S. Marine Band.
The singer, who was chosen by Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama to perform the Etta James classic At Last during their first dance at the 2009 inaugural ball, had a lot to live up to and she didn't disappoint second time around.
Watched by an estimated 800,000 people, including rapper husband Jay-Z, who had packed into the ceremony in front of the Washington DC monument, Bey battled sound problems, which forced her to remove her in-ear monitors, like a professional.
It has been claimed the 31-year-old's performance drew the biggest applause - more than the President himself, who was ceremoniously sworn in for his second term as the 44th President of the United States.
Channel 4 news presenter Jon Snow, wrote on Twitter: Beyonce steals the inauguration; the best rendition of the US National Anthem I have ever heard...and i have heard a few."
Twitter user Christiana Mbakwe, added: "Once upon a time, Beyonce ripped out her in-ears like "Devil you are a LIAR" and then she SANNNNG. And Jesus wept. With joy. The end,"
The Single Ladies star had shared snaps of her rehearsals on Instagram last night as a teaser for fans.
After her performance, Beyonce's singer sister Solange wrote on Twitter: "I couldn't be more proud on this day."
