MORE THAN 30 years after his death, reggae singer Bob Marley continues to earns millions and has found himself among the Top Earning Dead Celebrities.

In a recent post, Forbes.com has Marley ranked at number five on the list, earning $17m (£10.5m) last year.

Marley comes behind actress, Elizabeth Taylor, who is at first place with $210m (£130.7m); singer Michael Jackson, who is placed second at $145 million (£90.2m); Elvis Presley at third with $55 million (£34.2m); and cartoonist Charles Schulz at $37 million (£23m).

“The reggae star has become a diversified businessman from beyond the grave,” stated Forbes.

“There is even now a Marley beverage company which sells Marley's Mellow Mood, a 'relaxation' drink. Then there's the House of Marley which sells headphones, speakers and 'lively up' bags.”

Marley's presence on the list is not the only recent merit to his name.

In August, the album Legend by Marley and The Wailers in 1984 peaked at number 18, up from number 38, on the Billboard 200 Chart.
