Brighton's Liam Rosenior: "I'm more than confident"

EXPERIENCED: Liam Rosenoir

TOP FLIGHT new boys Brighton have to learn quickly according to the club’s right-back Liam Rosenoir.

The Seagulls have made a creditable start to their first ever Premier League campaign and have seven points as they go into Sunday’s (October 1) fixture against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Brighton will be buoyed by a hard-earned victory over Newcastle on September 24 and the veteran defender is more than hopeful that his team can survive among the big boys. Rosenoir told Brighton’s official match day programme:

“We know that we’re very solid and very disciplined in our structure and we know we’re going to get chances on the break. We’ve just got to learn that we can’t give away cheap goals and if we do that then we are in for a good season.”

Rosenoir, who has plied his trade with Fulham, Reading and Hull amongst others, brings a wealth of experience that Chris Hughton’s team will need as the season moves forward.

Rosenoir, 33, is of the opinion that they have nothing to fear.

“The difference in quality between the teams at the bottom of the Championship and the bottom of the Premier League is not as big as people make out. We could have got more points by now for sure, but the fact that we’ve been in the games is a real positive. You can’t switch off at any moment in the game.”

Having belatedly got his first team chance in the defeat against Bournemouth, Rosenoir is delighted to get be back in the top flight.

“I’ve been waiting for my chance to play at this level again and I felt that I did myself justice. I just need time and games to really build my fitness up, but I’m more than confident that I’m good enough to help the team at this level.”
