Cash Money Records goes to church

NEW VENTURES: Cash Money Records expanding into gospel

LIL WAYNE'S LABEL company, Cash Money Records, has revealed plans to expand into other music genres.

Cash Money's co-founder, Bryan 'Baby' Williams, told Billboard magazine that the group, which boasts of some of today's most popular rappers, including Drake and Nicki Minaj, will be expanding into gospel, pop and country music.

"We dominate rap, but we need to dominate R'n'B," Birdman told Billboard.

He added: "We need to dominate pop, gospel, country—we're a brand so we should be able to put out all these types of music. We just got to keep grinding."

'Baby' created the record label with his brother Ronald 'Slim' Williams in 1990 and are said to be responsible of selling over 75 million copies worldwide.

Rappers Drake, whose albums Thank Me Later and Take Care both went platinum and Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday recently earning a double platinum certification, have brought mega success to Cash Money in the last couple of years.

The group signed both Busta Rhymes and Mystikal at the end of 2011 to add to their impressive rooster.
