WITH NOTED business magazine Forbes revealing that late reggae legend Bob Marley earned £10 million in the last year, The Voice highlights four other black celebrities who are earning big after death.

Tupac Shakur

The rap legend, known for hits such as Me Against the World, made US$3.2 million (nearly £2 million) last year.

Shakur, who died in 1996, could earn more if rumours about him having an album of unreleased material become a reality, says Forbes.

Whitney Houston

The well-loved singing diva died on February 11 this year and saw many of her famous songs return to the music charts.

According to ABC News, the I Will Always Love You star, who sold more than 200 million albums and singles making her one of the most celebrated US female singers of all time, could earn another US$10 million (£6.2 million).

Jimi Hendrix

Dubbed one of the greatest ever electric guitarists, rocker Jimi Hendrix earned US$5 million (£3.1 million) over the last year as fans continue to hanker after the Purple Haze rocker’s music and merchandise.

According to Forbes online, fans also continue to fork out money for tickets to the Experience Hendrix tribute tour. He died in Kensington in London at age 27 on September 18, 1970.

Michael Jackson

The late King of Pop died on June 25, 2009 at the age of 50, but his earnings are still ‘off the wall’ with Forbes saying he earned US$145 million (just over £89 million).

He was ranked number 2 on the 2012 list of top earning celebrities who have died.
