Chevelle 'Dancehall Queen' Franklyn's latest gospel track

SPREADING THE GOOD NEWS: Chevelle Franklyn

JAMAICA-BASED Chevelle Franklyn is set to release a long-awaited new single on N.O.W. Records this month.

No Foreign God, which will be available digitally at all the usual outlets, is the first indication of what to expect from her eagerly anticipated new album Set Time which is scheduled for release later this year.

Fusing her trademark African and Caribbean beats to great effect, this is first new music from the singer in over a decade. The album was produced at her Living Stones Studio in Kingston, Jamaica by Franklyn and various producers and features collaborations with Donnie McClurkin, Lionel Petersen and Frank Edwards.

As a response to a religious encounter, Franklyn chose to walk away from a thriving musical career in 1998 after featuring on numerous chart-topping singles alongside the likes of Shabba Ranks, and Beenie Man. The singer has shared a stage with Buju Banton, Miriam Makeba, Jimmy Cliff, Ricky Martin, Mary J. Blige, The Fugees, Lenny Kravitz and Boyz II Men and is eager to show fans old and new what she is now achieving in gospel music circles.
