Chris Tucker "honoured" to host this year's BET Awards

HONOURED: Chris Tucker

CHRIS TUCKER says he feels "honoured" to have been asked to host this year's Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards in June.

The Oscar-nominated comedian and actor, best known for his role as Agent Carter in the hit move franchise Rush Hour, follows in the footsteps of comedian Steve Harvey and actor Samuel L. Jackson in presenting the annual event.

“I am honored to be asked to host this year’s BET Awards. I’m looking forward to be being part of a really great show,” said the star who recently won an Oscar nomination for his role in 2012's Silver Linings Playbook opposite Bradley Cooper.

The BET Awards aims to celebrate black talent and other minorities in music, acting, sports, and other fields of entertainment over the past year. This year's ceremony will be held at The Nokia Theatre in LA on June 30.
