Ciara and Russell Wilson tie the knot at castle in England

CASTLE WEDDING: Ciara and husband Russell Wilson on their wedding day

US SINGER Ciara and her quarterback beau Russell Wilson are officially man and wife after tying the knot yesterday (Jul 6) in Cheshire, England.

The pair shared their first photo as Mr and Mrs Wison on social media, accompanying the image with the caption, “We are The Wilsons!”

The 30-year-old singer wore a custom-made Roberto Cavalli gown designed by her friend Peter Dundas who serves as the fashion house's creative director.

Wilson, 27, and his new step-son Future Zahir, both wore Giorgio Armani Made to Measure for the special day.

The couple wed at Peckforton Castle in the presence of family and famous friends including Kelly Rowland and Jennifer Hudson, who shared a picture of her and son David Jnr getting ready for the special occasion.

The pair had their rehearsal dinner at Stanley’s Bar and Grill at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool. Ciara was spotted wearing a dazzling white halter gown as she held hands with Wilson, leading some fans to speculate that they had already exchanged vows.

The occasion marks the first marriage for Ciara who was previously engaged to rapper Future, but the two called off the engagement in August 2014.

The former couple have gone back and forth in a series of legal battles and social media jabs that have characterised a rocky struggle to be cordial and co-parent their two-year-old son Future Zahir Wilburn.

The marriage is Wilson’s second. He was previously wed to his high school sweetheart Ashton Meem. The pair was married for two years before calling it quits in 2014.

Ciara and Wilson made their debut as a couple in April 2015, and the pro athlete proposed to Ciara in March with a 16-carat sparkler during a romantic getaway in the Seychelles.

Both have been open about their decision to abstain from sex due to their religious beliefs.
