UNITED: Eddie Kadi and Kevin J
POPULAR BRITISH COMEDIANS Eddie Kadi and Kevin J will share the stage for an exclusive one-off show next month.
The funny men, both hailing from north London, hope that the show will illustrate the unity in British comedy and in these tough economical times, “give people two shows for the price of one.”
“Kevin and I have been friends for years,” Eddie told entertainment website The Master Copy.
“We’ve both have successful solo careers and have travelled around the world with our sets. We thought it would be good idea to see how our separate audiences respond under one roof when they are presented with act they might not be so familiar with. Effectively, they’re getting two for the price of one.”
Ed n Kev will take place in east London’s Sync Club on December 15 and will also feature a “number of special guests” during “a night full of excitement.
“It’s something new for the both of us. Our comedy styles are quite complimentary, while being extremely different, so our audience will be in for an explosive night,” the 29-year-old said.
Eddie, of Congolese heritage, and Kevin, a white British comic, hope that their contrasting styles and diverse backgrounds will create an explosive evening both of their fans will enjoy.
Last year, Eddie became the first black British comic to sell out the popular O2 Arena in London’s east end. Kevin has amassed a huge following since appearing on the bill at fellow comedian Kojo’s Comedy Fun House screened on MTV Base. He later went on to launch I Love Comedy, a monthly comedy club in London, although his fan base extends all the way to Africa.
“Ed n Kev is a one-off event, so get your tickets while you can. I can promise it will be a night to remember,” Eddie added.
