Community festival taking place in Harlesden this weekend

ON SATURDAY (Sep 10), Harlesden Community Festival will take place on the High Street from 1-5 pm.

The local neighbourhood will unite for an afternoon filled with activities for the entire family such as face painting, costume parades, local history via the Harlesden library, a bouncy castle and much more.

The event aims to celebrate one of London’s most multicultural areas, stimulate community spirit in Harlesden and foster community cohesion, whilst promoting it as a vibrant town with successful businesses.

Many of the local establishments will participate in the festival, showing their best, garnering new customers and thanking their existing ones through exclusive offers such as discount vouchers for up to 25 per cent. As if this wasn’t enough, there will be a Gospel Café, variety of stalls and other activities, food festival, barber competition, charity raffle and live performance stage - befitting of the area’s rich musical backdrop.

Harlesden boasts a fascinating history; patrons will become more enlightened about the area’s past and present through an exhibition which will be staged at the local library.

The Harlesden Community Festival is supported by Brent Council, Harlesden Ward Councillors, Harlesden Methodist Church, Harlesden Safer Neighbourhood Police, Daniels’s Estate Agents, Harlesden Business Associations, The Voice newspaper and Jamaica National. All are welcome.
