Cracked by his own code!

JAILED: Keiron Bryan sentenced 25 years when 'number puzzles' revealed he attempted murder

AN INMATE who sent letters to his sister using a complex numerical code has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Keiron Bryan, who was held in on remand for the shooting and robbery of Abdou ‘Shaka’ Nyang, asked his sibling to bribe the victim replacing words with the unique code, but was found out after police hired a top codebreaker to read the letter.

Dr John Olsson cracked the ‘number puzzles’ revealing that Bryan had planned to offer Nyang a £15,000 to drop the case against him.

The 23-year-old aspiring rapper, who had previously stolen £7,600 from Nyang, was also found guilty of attempted murder after he shot the victim after he tried to steal his car in retaliation.

Det Sgt Neil Haywood, from Greater Manchester Police told The Telegraph: "We launched a thorough investigation which involved painstaking work and we even brought in a code-cracker to decipher Bryan's letter to his sister."

He continued: "The fact Bryan was prepared to go to such devious lengths to get out of jail shows he is a dangerous and calculating man but he failed to outsmart us and is now behind bars for a very long time."

"I can only hope today gives the victim some sense of justice at seeing the men who were prepared to kill him locked away," he added.
