Discussion on ethnic Britain attracted stellar panellists

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 25 saw the fourth week of this year’s Great Debate Tour take place at Imperial College, London.

Panellists at the debate included Jasmine Dotiwala, Ben Anim-Antwi, Jessica Huie and Tyson Nsimbe.

Elevation Network’s Great Debate Tour is the largest UK debate forum which targets black and minority and ethnic students (BAME) in UK Universities.

The October 25 event took place inside the Huxley Lecture Theatre and began with an introduction, led by Chairman Samuel Kasumu.

Jasmine Dotiwala said:

“Thank you Imperial College and Elevation Networks for having me on your dynamic political debate tonight. So many impressive students! GDT 2017!”

Thursday October 26 saw both Nottingham City and Essex host further editions of the annual Great Debate Tour.

Nottingham City’s panellists were: Leslie Ayoola, Sophia Ramcharan, JJ Bola, Charmaine Hayden and Panya Banjoko.

Audience member Humaira commented on the discussion of Black History Month at Nottingham City:

“If you control your own media, you control your own story.”

Essex panellists included: Ola the Comedian, Tyson Nsimbe, Rochelle Robertson, Adjani Salmon and Ife Ade Token.

Robertson commented:

“Excited to be involved with this tonight.”
