Do you need help spending without the splurge?

BARGAIN HUNTER: The One Show presenter Alex Jones will present Shop Well For Less?

WHETHER WE’RE hooked by the exquisite whiff of a new pair of shoes, the shiny lure of the latest HD television, or the irresistible promises of beauty lotions and potions, one thing’s for sure - as a nation we simply love to buy. But can we rein in the spending and still keep the lifestyle we want?

If you think you need some help with spending without the splurge, applications are now open for a new TV series, which aims to help people save money.

Building on the success of Eat Well for Less?, which is currently on air for a second series, Shop Well For Less? will take savvy spending out of the kitchen and into our everyday shopping lives.

The series will be fronted by The One Show presenter Alex Jones and BBC Breakfast’s business correspondent Steph McGovern.

Alex Jones said: “Like many British women, I love to be stylish but I also love a bargain! So I can't wait to reveal all the clever ways you can make your money go further.”

SHOPPING SHEEP: BBC Breakfast host Steph McGovern will also present the show

Steph McGovern added: "I am a self confessed shopping sheep following the consumer crowd who believe the hype about the latest 'must have' products. So I am over the moon to be part of a show that's going to guide us through the retail mania and help make us smarter shoppers."

Guided by consumer journalists and presenters, Jones and McGovern will tap into our less desirable spending habits and deliver practical and warm-hearted advice, as well as offering up top tricks of the trade for shopping more cleverly.

From surprising brand-swapping experiments to revealing expert opinions and investigative research, the Shop Well team will reveal plenty of consumer truths along the way in this ultimate guide to getting more for less.
