DEATH: Don Cornelius

DON CORNELIUS' son has said his father was 'unhappy and uncomfortable' before he allegedly commited suicide earlier this week.

The body of the 72-year-old Soul Train founder was discovered by police in his California home with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, reports TMZ.

Speaking with Gayle King on TV show CBS This Morning, Tony Cornelius claimed his father had been showing signs of strain before his death.

He said: "You have to be in a person's shoes really to understand. Obviously, me being extremely close to him, I could tell that he was uncomfortable."
