Drake To Host First-Ever NBA Awards

HOST: Drake

DRAKE will be flexing his hosting skills once again, as he'll take to the stage to be the main presenter for the inaugural NBA Awards.

NBA on TNT announced that the Canadian rapper will serve as the host for the June 26 event, which will air on television network and take place at Basketball City at New York City’s Pier 36.

The ceremony will honour "the league’s top performers in categories like Kia NBA Most Valuable Player, Kia NBA Rookie of the Year, Kia NBA Sixth Man Award, Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Kia NBA Most Improved Player and NBA Coach of the Year."

Additional honors, which will be decided by fan voting, will be revealed Thursday night on TNT's Inside the NBA. The NBA will announce All-NBA teams during the playoffs like previous years—a move designed to give teams a better idea of their salary-cap room, given those awards' ties to player contracts.

Drake previously hosted the 2014 ESPYs, with his performance drawing some rave reviews.
