Drake surpasses The Beatles’ Billboard Hot 100 record

TRACK LIST: Drake has appeared on Billboard's singles chart 72 times

CANADIAN RAPPER Drake has trumped the The Beatles’ Billboard Hot 100 record with 72 appearances on the official chart.

Thanks to his contribution on iLoveMakonnen’s single Tuesday - which entered in at No. 90 on the US singles chart - Drake has taken eight place with 72 appearances.

The rapper has replaced English rock band The Beatles - whose record stood at 71 entries.

Drake now falls behind Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Jay Z, James Brown, Lil’ Wayne, Elvis and Glee.

Drake’s Young Money boss Lil’ Wayne is the reigning rapper on the Hot 100, racking up 122 entries on the list. Jay Z comes in second with 82. The hit TV show Glee tops the all-time record with a stunning 207 entries.

Sharing his accomplishment on Instagram, the rapper posted a screenshot of the news with the caption: “Bigger fish to fry my G #SOUND."
