TOUGH: Migrant workers are being warned to earn or risk being deported
FOREIGNERS ARE being warned that they must earn £31k a year or risk being kicked out of the country, it has been revealed.
It is believed that Immigration Minister Damian Green will unveil the radical plan today in a speech at UK's leading think tank, Policy Exchange, according to The Sun
This would be the first time a salary cap has been set for migrant workers who wish to stay.
Under current rules, skilled workers, such as nurses and chefs who have been allowed in on work visas, are entitled to apply for permanent residency after five years.
It is also believed the minister will also outline a separate entry route for top musicians, artists and actors.
The Coalition has pledged to cut the number of people migrating from 242,000 to "tens of thousands".
