Emeli Sandé receives iTunes Artist of the Year gong

SCOTTISH SINGER Emeli Sandé was named iTunes Artist of the Year after her debut album Our Version of Events topped the UK iTunes album chart for most copies sold of this year.

Our Version of Events sold over one million copies in the UK in 2012.

The Next to Me hit-maker, who performed at the opening and closing ceremonies at the London 2012 Olympic Games, also won three MOBO Awards in November.

"To hear that I'm iTunes 'Artist of the Year' and that Our Version of Events was the best-selling album on iTunes this year is just incredible!" said the 25-year-old Sandé.

"Thank you for all your support and making this year even more special."
