Empire star Taraji P Henson to pen memoir

MEMOIR: Taraji P Henson

EMPIRE STAR Taraji P Henson is to pen a memoir, which will include stories about life as a single mother and the struggles of being a black actress, it has been reported.

Around The Way Girl, scheduled for release on October 11, will also reveal details about Henson’s father, a Vietnam veteran, and her mother, who survived violence at home and on the streets.

Henson, who has become well-known for her roles on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button movie and the Empire TV series, “will also comment on her education at Howard University, how she views single motherhood as a gift rather than a burden, and the struggles that come along with being a black actress,” according to Entertainment Weekly.

The Golden Globe Award-winning actress announced the release date of her memoir last week via Instagram and shared the covers with her followers.

“The wait is ALMOST over,” she wrote on the social media site. “October 11, 2016 you will be able to cop your hard copy of my memoir #AroundTheWayGirl”
