Ethiopian airlines continue fleet expansion

EXPANDING: Ethiopian Airlines

AFRICA'S LARGEST airline group, Ethiopian Airlines, is delighted to announce that it has won the African Aviation ‘African Airline of the Year’ Award for 2017, for the second year in a row, during the 26th Annual Air Finance Africa Conference & Exhibition held in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The award was presented to Ethiopian in recognition of its continued rapid growth, increased profitability and its outstanding contribution to aviation development in Africa.

Just this week the airline utilised the delivery of yet another B787 aircraft from Boeing to facilitate the delivery of 6.5 tons of humanitarian aid to Ethiopia. Currently, Ethiopian has 18 B787 in noperation, deployed on its long-haul passenger routes, and will receive the 19th by the end of this month, this time utilizing the delivery flight to ferry medical equipment and supplies for St. Paul’s Hospital, Addis.

This round of our humanitarian delivery is a continuation of our commendable collaboration with Boeing that has served as a source of vital service for our community and neighbouring countries.

Hence, this move will further ensure unmatched combination of operational flexibility, efficiency, and passenger comfort that will allow Ethiopian to achieve its goal to be the leading Aviation Group in Africa and a leading global airline.”
