DISTURBING: Jody Ann poses for a snap with what is thought to be bleaching cream

A GIRL has posted a series of disturbing images on Facebook showing the gruesome stages of her bleaching her skin, reports MediaTakout.com

In one image, the girl, who goes by the name of Jody Ann on the social networking site, can be seen with what is believed to be bleaching cream covering her face. Below the she writes: “Yep, dwl (Dying With Laughter) bleaching”

The last image shows Jody Ann, who is thought to be in her late teens, looking noticeably lighter skinned then when first pictured.

Friends of Jody Ann were split on her controversial postings.

While one user praised the teen’s new look, writing, “Looking good boo yuh make bleaching look good,” another wrote, “U a damn fool u knw [sic].”

Despite the controversy surrounding her reveal, Jody Ann happily comments, “Cute, me love this pic. [sic]”

Last week, dancehall star, Vybz Kartel announced that he would launch a range of skin lightening products to cater to the demand of those wishing to take part in the controversial practice.

Negative history i.e Slavery, Segregation, lynchings, persecution, fighting for civil and equal rights not forgetting the risk of attack from numerous hate groups i.e KKK, BNP, EDL etc etc. Not also forgetting our supposed place in the racial hierachy-the bottom.
Thus there can never be a genuine sense of pride.
is there any real surprise that Black people are reaching for the cosmetic bleach.
Lets face it, as a race their is nothing wholeheartedly to be proud of is there.
Other races have a lot to be proud of, look at the oriental race and the South Asian race they have assimilated and have been accepted into mainstream white society because they are united and hard working, this has earned them the rightful respect and acceptance from the white man.
Black people on the otherhand pander to the stereotype of 'chip on the shoulder', expect something from nothing, constantly take but never give in fact, aggresive when challenged pander to the stereotype that other races have of us.
While other races are doing well in education, politics, business and learning to live and let live, Black people are going backwards and doing the opposite-c'mon now how many of you are brave enough to agree with what i am saying.

I have never understood why some black people feel the need to bleach and damage thier skin. We have melanine for good reasons. We should not be ashamed of whatever shade of black we are. It does not make us any more acceptable to other races if we bleach to become lighter. It will not change who we are.
In this age when white skinned people want to get dark we want to get light. We have to be satisfied with the way we were created.
I am so proud to be the colour that God made me. I will never change it to be any lighter or darker this is me , myself and I. Anything else and it would not be me.
Be proud of you and the colour of your skin.

If people like Vybez Kartel and black females want to bleach their skin it's their choice however what I object to is these are the same people who talk about the 'white man' in a in derogatory manner. They will also be the 1st to criticize a black person for dating/marrying a white person

Reason Why some Women bleach - from a proud black woman (black)

Those who part take in bleaching must remember the list of many side effects. Here are a few:-
1. The day you miss or stop bleaching, you will get ten shades darker than what you were when you started.
2. You are destroying all your body defences against the sun and skin cancer by bleaching.
3. The man that falls in love with you, because you are now lighter, never truly loves you just your skin.
4. No matter how much you bleach, you will never be white, Michael Jackson tried and yet he looked like a ghost he still remained black.
5. Bleaching your skin will never change the person you are. No matter how good you look.
6. Looks don’t last for ever, but your personality does.
People have been bleaching for many years, unfortunately things haven’t got better.
In the Caribbean, many islands don’t employ staff of a darker colour to work in they offices, feeling that the lighter the skin will make them more approachable by visitors to the islands. Also some feel that those lighter in completion are less ignorant and hold a higher brain spam than people whom were darker.
Africans are the worse people when it comes to bleaching. Ladies would bleach themselves with homemade bleaching products made from bleaching agents used to wash clothes.
For many women in African bleaching comes as the only option to fall for. Bowing down to family and community pressure to married before a certain age. When asked, the only response you will hear many saying would be, "as a black and dark sister, men are not interested in us, so to enable them to attach a man we have to bleach". This has been true for many years going back to slavery.
Many African men looked at the white skin as being pure, unmarked, without disease, soft and gentle in comparison to hard worked, dirty, blacked marked, bruised black women. The daily roles of a black woman :- farming, market selling, washing clothes by hand, cooking on an open wood fire, chopping wood, fetching water and looking after the children, putting a lot of stress on the body, causing bruises, cut and harshness to our hands.
Unfortunately this is not what a man is looking for in a woman, for a woman should be soft, smooth, sweet, clean and beautiful. Many when making this statement are referring to a lighter skin sister or a white lady. For the lighter the skin, you are able to notice any cut bruises, marks or skin diseases affecting the body.
This is a very negative and primitive attitude that has carried on for many years. For it is how you look after your body that determine how you look and your beauty not the colour of your skin.
Unfortunately for woman, we are being force to follow these negative beliefs by todays Media. Every day, you turn on your TV or open a magazine and all you are shown are air brushed images of both black and white women. Bodies completely smooth, showing no signs of cuts, birth marks, discolouring or anybody disorder or anything except perfect skin.
For black woman it is even harder, for modelling or acting agents don’t want a black woman that is too black, too short, fat or plump. For a black woman, looking for a role model, it is hard to locate a woman whom hasn’t used some form of bleaching agent in her life. For all you have to do is view actors / singer pictures before they became famous and now and notice the major difference in skin completion.
Unless we stop the media from brain washing people to believe that if u have some cellulite around your thighs, uneven skin tones, short bushy hair, thick lips, dark skin – you are not normal, or will never be accepted into society and you have to change. The children for tomorrow will always be depressed, increase teenage suicides.

The media and racists are to blame

With the negative media that black people get day after day, its no wonder that skin bleaching is happening now more than ever and the fact that it is much more open these days.
The more negative the media, the more self hating the target.
As for racists, well i wouldnt bleach my skin to be accepted by the likes of you, so do not flatter yourselves.

1) 'With the negative media that black people get day after day'

Perhaps you want to blame the idiots who are shooting and stabbing people on the streets of London for giving the press 'ammunition' when it comes to the negative image of black people.

2)'The more negative the media, the more self hating the target. '

If one speaks well, dresses tidely when one go out o the street6 ,tries to find work if one is out of work but fit and able to do so capable , not taking drugs or getting involved with gang crime then why would one hate onesef unless one is insecure?
