Faster mobile broadband rolls out across the UK

NEW: Faster broadband rolls out across the UK

FASTER BROADBAND internet for mobile phones is now available in 10 major cities across the UK today.

The network EE, which owns smart-phone giants Orange and T-Mobile are expected to sell the 4G service to millions of customers with the Apple iPhone 5 and devices from HTC, Samsung, Nokia and Huawei.

4G is said to be five times faster than 3G and will be rolled in London, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool and Manchester first.

According to Sky News the cheapest EE tariff offers 500MB worth of downloads costing £36 per month.

Customers who want to download more data than their designated allowance will also be forced to additional charges.

EE customers in Belfast, Derby, Hull, Newcastle, Nottingham and Southampton are expected to have access to 4G by the end of the year.
