BLOODIED AND BRUISED: Ferdinand
MANCHESTER UNITED defender Rio Ferdinand has declared that he will not be pursuing a conviction after being hit by a coin that was thrown from the stands on December 9.
The 34-year-old was cut above his left eye by a 2p coin after celebrating his team’s 3-2 victory against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Greater Manchester Police – who are still investigating the incident - have said that Ferdinand does not want to pursue a case against the perpertrator.
However, the former England captain did state that he might change his mind in the future.
In other news, Manchester City supporter Matthew Stott has been banned from attending football matches for three years after he admitted to invading the pitch to insult Ferdinand during the same game last month.
