Fourth man charged over KFC shooting

INNOCENT: Daniel Smith was fatally shot in May last year. Police believe the shooting on Harrow Road.

A FOURTH man has been charged in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old who was gunned down outside a west London Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) last year.

Jonathan Yeboah, 24, who was arrested and later bailed a few months after the incident, will appear in custody at Brent Magistrates Court on Friday (Oct 21), charged with obtaining the gun believed to be used in the murder of electrician Daniel Smith on May 22, 2010.

Police believe Daniel, who was fatally shot when returning to his car after leaving the fast food restaurant on Harrow Road W9, was an innocent bystander and that the incident may have been a case of mistaken identity.

His mother Winnie said: “Daniel never got into arguments, fights or anything. He was too gentle loving and affectionate for any of that.” His sister Cherell describes him as a “gentleman. He was kind, quiet. Cheeky as well. He would always make you laugh. Noone could say a bad thing about him.”
