Ghanaian singer dies in horrific car crash aged 20

R.I.P: Ebony Reigns

GHANAIAN SINGER Ebony Reigns has died at the age of 20 after her car reportedly collided with a bus in south western Ghana.

The Afrobeat and Dancehall performer – real name Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng – was driving to Accra following a trip to Sunyani with friends.

She was rushed to Bechem Government Hospital, where she was treated but later died from her injuries.

Her two friends were also killed in the crash, while the driver of the bus is still being treated in hospital.

According to myjoyonline.com, Barimaba Yusif, a journalist with local radio station, After-2 FM, said on the Super Morning Show on Joy FM Friday (Feb 9) the road on which the accident occurred was in a bad state.

The journalist suspects that the driver of the Jeep in which Ebony was travelling had attempted to avoid running into a heap of sand that was being used for road construction but instead ran into the VIP bus travelling in the opposite direction.

Known in real life as Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, Ebony was widely known for her hit songs Poison and Kupe.

She would have turned 21 on February 16.
