Glee star Amber Riley wins 'Dancing with the Stars'

DANCING QUEEN: Amber Riley

GLEE STAR Amber Riley has been announced as the champion of American reality show Dancing with the Stars.

The bubbly actress and dance partner Derek Hough beat High School Musical star Corin Bleu in the US version of Strictly Come Dancing on Monday (Nov 25).

Holding her large, glittery mirror-ball trophy, the actress gave an emotional shout-out to all ladies of colours and body shapes.

She said: “It doesn't matter what size you are, what colour you are- you can do whatever, whatever, whatever, you put your mind to.”

The 27-year-old actress, who is best known for her role as Mercedes Jones in the award winning series Glee, impressed the judges and fans with her natural rhythm and flexibility throughout the competition.

Riley sealed the deal with her flawless 30 score for her "fusion dance" performance.

Her samba and quickstep routine resulted in a standing ovation from the competition judges.

Other celebrities who took part in the ballroom dancing competition this year included Christina Milian, Jack Osbourne and Snooki from Jersey Shore.

Riley's Glee co-stars Lea Michelle and Chris Colfer congratulated their friend with an Instagram video and Twitter messages.
