Gospel star Jahaziel turns his back on Christianity

DOUBTS: Jahaziel

MOBO AWARD-winning gospel rap artist Jahaziel took to Facebook during the Christmas season, to share that he was no longer following the Christian faith after 20 years.

In the long FB post, published on December 22, Jahaziel, who’d been a believer for 20 years, shared his reasons for leaving the Christian faith and some of his doubts about Christianity.

He wrote: "When I first joined Christianity I was told 'you must believe this book is God's infallible word'... Before I'd even read the book!! How can one decide for themselves whether a book is accurate and true BEFORE they have even read and investigated the book thoroughly?!"

He went on to state that after spending 20 years promoting the positives of Christianity, he would start highlighting the negatives which he listed as "its historic blood trail, its plagiarised bible stories characters and concepts, the many human errors of the bible and its contradictions, the brutal nature of its God, its involvement in the slave trade, the crusades, the inquisition, the witch hunts, it's second class view of women, it's masculinisation of God, it's emasculation of men, its financial corruption….you get my drift."

Jahaziel added: "So YES I will go on, and I will not be silent as some have asked — my integrity will not allow me to be so passive against mass corruption. In all love. J"

Jahaziel’s post went viral, and to date has got 363 likes, and been shared 210 times, plus leading US website and have featured stories of Jahaziel’s falling away from the faith.
