GUBA founder recognised for outstanding contribution

AND THE WINNER IS: GUBA founder Dentaa Amoteng

DENTAA AMOTENG, CEO of GUBA Awards, GUBA Foundation and the GUBA Expo, has won the Black Enterprise (BE) Mogul Award. The exclusive ceremony took place on February 4 at the Bellerive House, London with attendance from trailblazing individuals in the Afro-Caribbean community in the UK.

The BE Mogul is the first of a new annual publication that celebrates and recognises most influential and inspirational black business owners in Britain today.

“BE Mogul provides a platform for positive business role models, who may not have been recognised in the mainstream media, to inspire and encourage others.

"We want to shout loud and proud about the positive economic contribution black-owned businesses are making in Britain today," said Mavis Amankwah, co-founder of BE mogul and CEO of Rich Visions.

Dentaa’s receipt of the award is in recognition of her outstanding entrepreneur skills and her consistent contribution to business development in the UK. In her acceptance speech Dentaa said: “I am very grateful for this recognition today. The journey is never a smooth one but I have faith and believe that the end will be great. I was told today that ‘don't stop the race just adjust the pace!' And I look to apply this principle henceforth. I would like to thank my wonderful team and family for believing and supporting me throughout.”

Dentaa and her team are currently working on the upcoming Guba Greenwich Trade Expo 2016 which will take place from May 20 -22 at Charlton Athletic Football Club, and the Sunday at the Gordon square in Woolwich market.

The GUBA Expo is a platform for showcasing African inspired products to the mainstream UK markets and generating significant business/trade links.
