Gunner joins Addicks in loan deal

ARSENAL MIDFIELDER Emmanuel Frimpong has joined Championship side Charlton Athletic on loan until the start of the new year.

The 20-year-old Ghanaian has been with the Gunners since joining their academy as a nine-year-old but severe injuries have prevented him for progressing at the Emirates Stadium.

Frimpong was loaned out to Wolves in January but a severe knee injury meant that he spent most of his time at Molineux on the sidelines.

Since returning to Arsenal in September, Frimpong has only featured in two games.

“We’re really happy that he’s coming in to join our squad, and we welcome him to the club,” said Charlton boss Chris Powell.

“We’ve had our eye on him for a while, and with the busy Christmas period to come, I felt it was right to make sure that we are covered in all areas.

"We hope that he does very well for us in the red or black of Charlton.”
