The Hackney-based project empowering women

EMPOWERED: WomenAfterGreatness

TOYIN AYEDUN-Alase is the founder of the social enterprise Women After Greatness (WAG), an organisation that seeks to help women develop themselves both personally and professionally. Since the company began in August 2014 they have been passionate about reaching out to young women living in the community.

It all began when the twenty-something year-old from Hackney began to believe there was a great need to contribute to the positive development of young women and girls in her local community.

Through her diligence and hard work, she has partnered with a number of different organisations including; speaking at this year WOW FESTIVAL @ Southbank Centre, partnering with Rosa (women’s charity) and being featured by Marie Claire UK magazine to provide support for young women by facilitating training events and workshop.

The push to action really stemmed from Ayedun-Alase's personal journey through childhood and adolescence - she knew first-hand what it was like to need support and encouragement to break out of a seemingly negative cycle; (both at school and in her personal life) thus birthing her passion to provide the same support for other young females.

She accredits her breakthrough to her mentors who went above and beyond their call of duty to advise and guide her through challenging times.

Her latest project ‘Four F’s Sake’ is a workshop with the theme of ‘Financial Confidence’ which focuses on encouraging participants to gain insight in the financial acumen and skills needed for their futures and applying it to the common areas they spend their money.

She is currently being supported by her mentoring company Boring Money and Rosa (women's charity), and will be held at the 7IM (Seven Investments Management) offices. September 5, 2017 from 1-4.30pm.
