This is being done under a new Voice initiative to get closer to readers.

From 11.00 am until 2.00 pm on Saturday, January 21, staff members of The Voice will be holding the first of a series of community clinics in the home to one of the largest African and Caribbean communities in London.

The Voice team will be inside the Lewisham Civic Suite, 1 Catford Road, London SE6 4RU (next to the Lewisham Town Hall) from 11.00 am until 2.00 pm.

The clinics are part of activities to celebrate Britain's best-selling black newspaper's 30th anniversary.

Members of the public, community groups and activists are invited to Attend the session and bring their stories, opinions, community event invitations and feedback about The Voice directly to reporters. It will also be an opportunity for local organisations to promote their work among fellow residents.

Under the community clinics initiative, Voice employees will also be travelling the length and breadth of the country to hear the burning issues within communities.

Editor and managing director George Ruddock said: "The Voice celebrates its 30th anniversary this year which is a significant achievement and a lot of thanks must go to our readers who have supported us over the decades.

"We realise that what makes us relevant is telling stories that go under-reported in the mainstream press. In order to do this we cannot separate ourselves from communities. We have to become part of them. This
is what readers have asked for, and we have listened."

To meet The Voice and have your say, drop by Lewisham Town Hall, in Catford, on Saturday, January 21, between 11.00 am and 2.00 pm.
