GUILTY: Peters was fined at Hereford Magistrates’ Court
A MAN was fined £3000 after a court found him guilty of hurling racist abuse at a black anti-hunting protester.
Hunt master David Lee Peters, 33, was convicted of racially aggravated harassment when witnesses said he called Hiba Hassan a ‘f***** w**’ as the protestors gathered at a meet in Ross-on-Wye on January 7.
Lee Peters, from Ross-on-Wye, denied the charge but was convicted at Hereford Magistrates' Court, the Mirror reported.
Witness Robert Muncey said Hassan was sitting with some other protestors in the vehicle when Lee Peters spotted her.
Muncey told the court that after Lee Peters saw Hassan, “he yelled to riders behind ‘They’ve got a f****** w** in here’.”
Hassan told the court the insult left her feeling “very alienated and upset and shocked.”
