I Will Tell international film fest nominations and dates

IT'S COMING-up to the end of summer and the inspirational I Will Tell kicks-off the start of the film festival season.

This year the festival hosts a suite of world and UK premiere screenings of impactful dramas, documentaries, animations and short films from across the world.

The opening gala screening of Ava Du Vernay’s 13TH was a Special Screening in honour of all those who have lost loved ones and would certainly have been awarded the festival’s highest award had it been officially submitted as a festival entry.

The nominations in the three other categories are as follows:

Keep Going (Ya-Yu Lin)
Full Service (K Page and Stuart Valdes)
An Ordinary Man (Samantha Babboni)
Alice's Mirror (Benoît Lelièvre)

Kingston Crossroads (Oliver Becker and Jonas Schaul)
Trails of Hope and Terror (Vincent De La Torre)
Stingray Sisters (Katrina Channells and Bridget O'Shea)

The Extrovert (James Pinedo II)
I Am Still Here (Mischa Marcus)
Forgotten Man (Arran Shearing)

Festival Director Jenny Lee said:

“We aim to encourage filmmakers, inspire festival-goers and shine a light on the hidden stories of 'the other'. Our Closing Gala ceremony on Saturday September 9 is part of that mission and we are honoured to have filmmakers from around the world flying in to attend the Awards Ceremony in London.”

The final decisions were made by a highly esteemed jury including Bart Gavigan (Hollywood filmmaker and script doctor), Robert Beckford (academic and documentary maker), Mark Playne (award-winning filmmaker) and Funke Oyebanjo (award-winning filmmaker and scriptwriter).

The Closing Gala Awards ceremony will be held at the Vue Islington before attendees are whisked away to a nearby Roof Garden for an intimate reception with cocktails, canapes and live jazz.

Tickets for all the nominated films and the Closing Gala are available at standard cinema prices and can be booked online at: or at (search for 'I Will Tell').
