ISSA RAE is on a roll. From wrapping up another successful season of her own HBO show Insecure, to being a brand ambassador for Covergirl cosmetics - the creative has got it all.

And now, The Golden Globe nominee is embarking on another TV show which she will work on alongside The Turner House author Angela Flournoy.

Rae is set to executive produce the untitled project which will be set in Los Angeles in the early and turbulent 1990s. The show will centre on an African-American family dealing with the events of the time and Flournoy will write the project.

Speaking to Deadline, Rae said: “I’m so thrilled to be working with Angela. I was a huge fan of The Turner House and we feel so lucky to bring her beautiful storytelling to HBO.”

Along with Rae and Flournoy, Dave Becky and Jonathan Berry at 3 Arts and Montrel McKay at Apex Content Ventures will executive produce too.
