It’s academic for Jason

TALENT SPOTTER: Roberts

PREMIER LEAGUE star Jason Roberts is on the hunt for the next generation of football talent.

The Blackburn Rovers forward, via his foundation has teamed up with Global Leisure Developments and the Independent Football Academy, to launch the Global Academy of Football and are looking for their first intake of students aged 16 plus to enrol for the autumn 2011 term.

The development centre, which will be Global Leisure Development’s second facility, incorporates professional coaching, innovative facilities and first rate education in BTEC Level 2 and NVQ Level 3 in Sport.

Roberts, a Grenada international, says that the venture is a modern progressive concept devised to facilitate, foster and forward the development and management of young people to “become the best that you can be.”

Roberts is preparing for the upcoming football season with relish. His club survived a desperate relegation battle last term but Blackburn’s new owners have promised to invest in the squad and have an eye on the lucrative Champions League in future seasons.

If you are interested in enrolling for the first course, the Global Academy of Football are holding trials every Saturday throughout July at Silsoe Global Sports Village in Bedfordshire.

Email the following details including your name, age, gender, telephone number, height, weight, preferred position, second position, left or right foot, preferred trial date, second trial date to louise@the-globalvillage.co.uk. Trials will be held on July 16, 23 and 30 and will start at 11am.
